Pippa is our Autism Support Lead for the Community Autism Support and Advice service (CASA), which we run to support autistic adults across Gloucestershire, commissioned and funded by Gloucestershire County Council.
Pippa delivers one-to-one support for autistic adults, helps run the CASA drop-in groups, and offers training and education about autism to employers, public services, and other organisations.
"A large part of my work is looking at Reasonable Adjustments - changes that can be made to a situation to accommodate the needs of someone with a disability - whether that is in employment, or breaking down barriers to accessing healthcare," said Pippa. "I focus on being neuro-affirming to help improve outcomes for the individuals I support, to bring about better mental health, increased engagement in services, higher levels of self-esteem and self-advocacy, better understanding of an autism diagnosis, and help connecting with their autistic identity. At the forefront of my role is building connections and trust with each individual."
Pippa has a degree in Occupational Therapy, and a Masters degree in Autism Studies.
Outside of work, Pippa enjoys spending time outdoors come rain or shine, going for walks with her family's dog, playing a board games with her children, reading, and watching crime documentaries.
