Ideas and solutions for communities

The original CARTS (Community Approaches to Reducing Traffic Speed) toolkit was developed in 2012 following a series of events organised by GRCC to explore community-based solutions to traffic speed issues.

In 2017, thanks to funding from the Gloucestershire Police and Crime Commissioner, we expanded the toolkit to include wider road safety issues than just speeding.

In 2023, after a series of events run in partnership with Gloucestershire County Council and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, we published our latest version of the CARS (Community Approaches to Road Safety) Toolkit which you can download here (PDF, 6MB) .
